AUM: The secret of spiritual health

AUM: The secret of spiritual health
While practicing medicine for 17 years I was trying to get answers of many questions lingering in my mind for many years. The quench of knowledge for hidden science compelled me to study astrology and various branches related to astro viz Kundali (horoscope), Ankshastra (Numerology), Hastasamudrik shastra (Palmistry) & mantrashastra. I found that medicine esp. Ayurved as well as astrology are based on the same basic principles. Ayurved believes in two protocols of treatment. First in the form of various medicines (Herbo-mineral & Panchkarma), second in the form of daiva vyapashraya chikitsa that is Mani (gem therapy) and Mantra, and Yantra. I would say that a definite base of medical science lies behind Mani, mantra & yantra.
Let’s take an example of the mantra which we are familiar with “AUM”. Many times people take help of this beeja mantra for meditating. People want variety of things from meditation. Some want peace, other want self control or some want power. But is it possible to achieve these goals simply by chanting mantra as a one does- without proper knowledge about the mantra itself and without knowing the way how to utter it?? Absolutely not!!
AUM an eternal , divine “Beeja mantra” and is the symbol of “Triloka” ie the sky(Aakash), the earth(Prithvi) and the space beneath the earth (Patal). Every incantation gain power when it is initialized with powerful beeja mantra i.e. “ AUM” and encompasses the “Triloka”
“AUM” itself is made of Aa + Oo + M three Aadyakshar which symbolizes the sky, the earth and Patal respectively
“Aa” represents Patal lok which symbolizes Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is a creator and destructor of the universe. Lord shiva is worshiped in the form of male genital organ (a phallic symbol). Genitals of male perform different task. Metabolic toxins, waste products and bacteria are excreted trough urethra in the form of urine. It also performs work of reproduction. Lord shiva along with his bull( Nandi) resides aloofly in extremely cold, snowy Himalaya . Similarly male genital organs are also separated from the rest of the body. Sperm can not stay alive in warm body hence to keep the organ functioning it is positioned such that the low temperature is maintained in testis. Testis is called “vrishan” in Sanskrit language & “vrish” is synonym of Bull (Nandi). In Indian astrology planate Shukra (venus ) is lord of “Vrishabh” (Tauras) rashi. We all recognize the link between vrishabh rashi , and planate shukra in reproduction. This is the place of swadhishtan chakra.
In atharvashirsha it is narrated that Lord ganesha always resides / exists in Mooladhar chakra (one of the shatchakras (Plexuses ) in the the body which is located near the anal region. “ TWAM MOOLADHAR STHITOSI NITYAM” . Is it not true that we are blessed by means of health when everyday morning we touch and pray Lord Ganesha by touching our anal region (Aadhi vandu tuza moraya) or mooladhar chakra after answering natures call. And this really helps us to be fit and the entire day is problem free or passes without vighna. Apan vayu which is situated at the pelvic region and mooladhar chakra helps in excretion of solid (feces ) and liquid (urine) waste products from the body . By uttering “Aa” emphatically while answering nature’s calls support function of Apan vayu and thus helps in easy excretion of waste products.
While chanting AUM if “Aa” is uttered as described above one attains accomplishment and gets full benefit of chanting AUM
‘Oo’ signifies Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is cherisher of the universe and nurtures whole world. Lord Vishnu is seated cozily on the coils of “Sheshanaga” in the midst of the ocean (ksheerasagar) under the canopy of Sheshanaga’s hood. Goddess Laxmi is gracefully sitting at the feet of Lord Vishnu. What exists in nature also exists in human body. In human body Lord Vishnu in the form of “ Pitta” (Bile) nurtures body by performing task of digestion at the macro and micro levels of digestion.
If we watch for anatomical position of Bile and other digestive hormones ( Lord Vishnu in the form of pitta), is digestive tract and small intestine which exactly look alike coils of Sheshanaga. This pitta nurtures body by digestion, transformation, assimilation of food. The upper end the digestive tract is connected through food pipe(Esophagus) to the oral cavity which is called “Saptapath” in Sanskrit language and looks like hood of the Sheshanaga. The person whose digestion is intact or excellent is blessed by Goddes Laxmi in the form of good health. This bile flow and its function is controlled by Udan vayu and Saman vayu. While belching and vomiting one naturally utters “Ooh” which aids expulsion of vomitus and gas from the stomach.
While chanting AUM if “Oo” is uttered by applying pressure around umbilicus one attains accomplishment and gets rid of diseases of digestive system.
In AUM uM signifies “Brahmatatva” and the sky (bramhalok). The form of brahma is presumed as trimukhi (who has three heads), white old man sitting on a lotus that has emerged from the umbilicus of the Lord Vishnu. Brahma is the Lord of intelligence and place of intelligence is the brain.
In human body we can see that the spinal cord passing behind the umbilicus looks like delicate stalk of the lotus. At the upper end the spinal cord extends as white smoky colored left and right hemispheres of the brain and the cerebellum which appears like trimukhi Brahma. If we pay attention we can hear sound of spatial vacuum i.e “M “. This “M” sound vibrates brain and stimulates and enhances blood supply to the brain and thus improves functioning of central nervous system.
Thus to conclude we can state that chanting AUM is not just a routine procedure but while doing so emphasis should be given on perfect utterance of every component of AUM. If all three components i.e. “Aa, Oo,& M” are uttered by applying force on Anal region, umbilicus and brain respectively and consciously one gets accomplishment (siddhi) and gets utmost happiness and desired benefits out of it.
